Iunno, I can understand if some people find that stupid or petty, but I just can't look past how my character supposedly just -has- all these awesome weapons because some Doctor in a backwater apparently stockpiled a bunch of guns on top of his stove. Likewise, this may sound (understandably) petty to some people, but I have a "use everything at your disposal to survive" dead-is-dead sort of playstyle, so having an entire house of free weapons for me just breaks my immersion hard it's like one giant location I have to pretend doesn't exist.
